Trustees Received an Update from Hazzard, Young, Attea & Associates on the Superintendent Search
Trustees received an update on the superintendent search process from Hazzard, Young, Attea & Associates. Highlights included:
- Currently in the community engagement phase of search
- Focus groups will continue through Sept. 20. Invitations were sent Aug. 16
- Survey is now open until Sept. 3, already garnering more than 12,000 responses so far
- Leadership profile will be finalized by Sept. 26
- Board Selection Interviews are scheduled for Oct. 9, 16, and 30, 2024
The board discussed community inclusion in the search process, and a request to consider adding more in-person meetings. Trustees approved an action item to add a budget request for more virtual focus groups due to high demand (5-0).
Trustees Made an Appointment to the Audit Advisory Committee
Trustees appointed Chris Giunchigliani for a two-year appointment to the Audit Advisory Committee (3-2)

Trustees Approved a Notice of Intent to Amend Regulation 5150 – Health & Welfare: Students
Trustees approved changes to Regulation 5150 – Health & Welfare: Students, including first aid protocols for immediate treatment, contacting of emergency services and parents/guardians, processes for when emergency medical services are contacted and if they transport a student, student medication administration procedures, and student health and safety accommodations.

Trustees Conducted a Public Hearing on and Approved the 2024 Medium-Term Bond Authorization Resolution
Trustees conducted a public hearing on and approved an issuance of up to $50 million in medium-term bond obligations to finance all or a portion of acquiring, improving, and equipping school facilities, including transportation vehicles and facilities, and technology equipment and facilities.
