Trustees Approved A Notice of Intent on CCSD Policy 5136 (7-0)
Trustees approved a Notice of Intent to amend Policy 5136 – Personal Technology and Communication Devices. Changes to the policy include:
- Adding a thorough definition of the term “electronic communication device”.
- Prohibiting hacking and pirating, as well as requiring use of a signal-blocking pouch during the school day.
- Adding notice of an existing system to rate seriousness of violations of Policy 5136.

Trustees Approved A Notice of Intent on CCSD Policy 4300 (7-0)
Trustees approved a Notice of Intent to adopt Policy 4300 – Employee In-State Work Requirement. The policy language includes:
- All CCSD employees are required to perform CCSD work from a physical location in the State of Nevada.
- Independent contractors are not employees of the District and are therefore exempt from this requirement.

Trustees heard an update on the Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan on employee morale, engagement, and retention. Highlights from the presentation included:
- From the 2019-2020 school year to the 2024-25 school year, employee recognition increased from 1,319 employees to 9,464 employees recognized.
- The main challenge currently is creating recognition events while protecting instructional time.
- Next steps include expanding current recognition programs, launching an exemplary attendance program, and submitting employee nominations for state and federal awards for recognition.
