Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Clark
¿Qué es el Consejo de Administración y de qué es responsable? Los fideicomisarios del CCSD toman las decisiones del distrito escolar. Siete miembros son elegidos según el distrito; cuatro son representantes designados de los cuatro municipios más grandes del Condado de Clark (Condado de Clark, Ciudad de Las Vegas, Ciudad de Henderson y Ciudad de North Las Vegas). Son responsables de supervisar al Superintendente y establecer la política de todo el distrito. ¿Con qué frecuencia se reúne el Consejo de Administración? Los administradores se reúnen dos veces al mes (segundo y cuarto jueves) a las 17.00 horas, tanto virtualmente como en la sala de juntas del Centro Educativo Edward A. Greer (2832 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89121).

Los órganos decisorios se benefician enormemente de las aportaciones del público y de sus múltiples puntos de vista. Trustees heard an update from the Compliance Monitor. The update highlights included:
- Of 29 action steps, 22 were completed, 5 partially completed, and 2 incomplete.
- The hiring of a new CFO, who started work mid-July, is likely to increase the pace of progress on the remaining items.
- Notable achievements include enhanced collaboration, improved decision-making, financial transparency, and automation of budgeting processes.
- Recommended next steps include continuing to enhance budgeting practices and support for principals, implementing forward-thinking strategies, and increasing transparency and oversight.

Trustees Approved A Notice of Intent on CCSD Policy 5136 (7-0)
Trustees approved a Notice of Intent to amend Policy 5136 – Personal Technology and Communication Devices. Changes to the policy include:
- Adding a thorough definition of the term “electronic communication device”.
- Prohibiting hacking and pirating, as well as requiring use of a signal-blocking pouch during the school day.
- Adding notice of an existing system to rate seriousness of violations of Policy 5136.

Trustees Approved A Notice of Intent on CCSD Policy 4300 (7-0)
Trustees approved a Notice of Intent to adopt Policy 4300 – Employee In-State Work Requirement. The policy language includes:
- All CCSD employees are required to perform CCSD work from a physical location in the State of Nevada.
- Independent contractors are not employees of the District and are therefore exempt from this requirement.

- In comparison to the 2023-24 school year, the 2024-25 school year:
- Had a smaller but more qualified applicant pool.
- Saw a larger percentage of classrooms filled on the first day of school.
- Had fewer vacancies in bus driver and special education positions.
- Next steps include continuing training of the recruitment team and focusing on teacher retention.

Trustees heard an update on the Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan on employee morale, engagement, and retention. Highlights from the presentation included:
- From the 2019-2020 school year to the 2024-25 school year, employee recognition increased from 1,319 employees to 9,464 employees recognized.
- The main challenge currently is creating recognition events while protecting instructional time.
- Next steps include expanding current recognition programs, launching an exemplary attendance program, and submitting employee nominations for state and federal awards for recognition.
