Trustees Approved the Presentation on Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan – Chronic Absenteeism (X-X)
Ang mga highlight ng pagtatanghal ay kinabibilangan ng:

- By working with multiple agencies, and engaging effective monitoring, chronic absenteeism is decreasing.
- Current levels demonstrate a decrease in all measured student populations.
- Absenteeism rates at CCSD are lower compared to similar districts across the country, including Denver Public Schools, Albuquerque Public Schools and Los Angeles Unified.
- Attendance officers completed more than 20,000 visits during the first semester of this school year.
- The “Every Day Matters” Campaign is ongoing, as well as Town Halls and other next steps.
- Discussion of issues related to absenteeism ensued:
- Current affairs
- Free school lunch
- Mental Health
- Safety
- Start times
- Budgets for attendance officers
- Housing destabilization
- “Dip” days
- By working with multiple agencies, and engaging effective monitoring, chronic absenteeism is decreasing.

Trustees Received an Update on the 2025 Legislative Session
Ang mga highlight ng pagtatanghal ay kinabibilangan ng:
- 506 Bills have been introduced so far. CCSD is tracking 92 of them.
- Bill draft deadlines are coming up.
- Senate Committee on Education has heard two bills so far
- SB 38: Emergency Operations Plans
- SB 45: Grants
- Due to snow, presentations on the K-12 budget was canceled but should happen soon.
- CCSD Interim Superintendent will provide an update to the assembly education committee next week, and will introduce a bill AB 48 regarding a new bullying law.
- More updates available via a Legislative Newsletter, which is public.
Trustees Approved a Notice of Intent to amend CCSD Regulation 5127 – Graduation Requirements
Highlights of the amendments include:
- Exemptions for Physical Education were clarified.
- Specific clubs and sports that qualify for the exemption are now listed.
- Outdated language was removed.

Trustees Received a Report on the Final Use of American Rescue Plan ESSER III Funds
Ang mga highlight ng pagtatanghal ay kinabibilangan ng:
- CCSD Allocation was $777M.
- The State is applying for a late liquidation extension.
- The funds resulted in a strong recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds were used to:
- Increase access and equality
- Invest in teachers
- Strengthen community partnerships
- Make fulfilling investments, aligned to FOCUS 2024 priorities
- 100% of funds were obligated on time.
- Student success in Mathematics has been recognized nationally, as other districts attempt to replicate the work of CCSD.
- Grade 8 Science saw improvement in every student group.
- Steady increase has been seen in College + Career Readiness over the last three years.
- A third party evaluated the investment strategy (Hanover research) who reviewed and validated the decisions.
