Trustees Conducted the Following Business as a Joint Meeting of the CCSD Board and the Audit Advisory Committee

Trustees Received a Presentation on the Annual Independent Auditor’s Report

    • The net position of CCSD $1.276B. The change in net position was a growth of $515M.
    • Auditors evaluate financial health from two main funds: general fund and debt service fund.
      • Debt Service Fund: $923M in assets. Average debt service per year is a little over $400M, meaning there is about two years of debt service in the fund, which is considered healthy.
      • General Fund: $969M in assets. Fund is highly liquid. Roughly 25% — or three months— of expenses exist in the fund. Recommended level is at least one month, however, a lot of this fund is restricted. Nevertheless, auditors have no concerns.
    • Budget to Actual Performance
      • FY ’24 revenue came in under budget by $14M, entirely due to pupil-centered funding plan calculations.
      • FY ’24 expenditures came in under budget by $444M.
      • Net = overall favorable performance by approximately $430M.
    • One error was found and corrected in the current year related to a report on interest statements, and an official finding was filed.
    • No issues were found regarding federal Grant Compliance. CCSD is in compliance.
    • Generally, the committee evaluated the finances of CCSD as healthy and without alarm.
