Opportunity 180 is seeking peer reviewers with experience in the charter school sector to serve on a Peer Review Panel for the Great Schools for Nevada CSP subgrant process. Opportunity 180 holds the federal Charter Schools Program (CSP) grant and funds from the CSP grant are dedicated for subgrantees to support the growth and expansion of public charter schools in the state of Nevada. Subgrant applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of peer reviewers who will make award recommendations to Opportunity 180 CSP staff.
Who: Reviewers will be selected through an application process. Individuals selected as peer reviewers must be well informed regarding education, education policy, evaluation, and operations of public charter schools. Reviewers should have experience with operating a charter school, school finance, CSP grants or other grant administration, and/or general school/district leadership. Applicants must reside in the United States. Each reviewer may be asked to review up to 3-5 applications during 2026.
What: Peer reviewers will independently read, score, and provide timely, written comments, supported by the application submission, scoring rubric, and relevant laws and regulations. They will participate in virtual training sessions provided by O180 and in follow up calls as needed. The review of each application will be conducted using cloud-based software and no in-person meetings are required.
Requirements:
- Must have a computer, reliable internet, phone, and access to a printer (if needed)
- Must be comfortable using cloud-based software to review application materials
- Must be available for the virtual Peer Reviewer Training between the dates of January 30th – February 10th, 2026*.
- Must have availability during February 25th – April 6th, 2026 for reviewing applications.
- Must have availability for Virtual Capacity Interviews from March 30th – April 3rd, 2026.
March 25th-26th, 2026 are the Capacity Interview Preparation days. Meetings will be held in Pacific Standard Time (PST). Peer reviewers must not have any real or perceived conflict of interest in any of the schools being awarded the sub-grant (must complete a conflict-of-interest form if selected).

Compensation: Reviewers will be compensated a flat $150 for performing the mandatory training and $500 per application reviewed (total number of applications to be further stipulated in a contract if selected as a reviewer).
