¿Qué es la Junta Directiva y de qué es responsable? La Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Washoe es el órgano decisorio elegido públicamente para el distrito escolar. Son responsables de supervisar al Superintendente y de establecer la política del Distrito. Los administradores son responsables de trabajar con sus comunidades para mejorar el rendimiento de los estudiantes.

¿Con qué frecuencia se reúne el Consejo de Administración? Los administradores se reúnen dos veces al mes (segundo y cuarto martes) a las 14.00 horas, tanto virtualmente como en la sala de juntas del edificio de la Administración Central, 425 E.9th St., Reno, NV 89512.

Administradores Aprobado la Agenda de Consentimiento

- Approval of the Renewal of the Follett Destiny School Library & Textbook Management System for the term February 28, 2025 to February 28, 2026, in the approximate amount of $139,047.19
- Approval of the Internal Audit Department's Annual Audit Plan for Calendar Year 2025
- Approval of the Recommendation of Award for Request for Qualifications (RFQS) #36-QS-09-22-DAFY25 for architectural selection for capital renewal maintenance, revitalizations, expansions, and new schools
- Approval of Guaranteed Maximum Price 1 (GMP1) from Plenium Builders as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the Edward C. Reed High School Modernization Project in the amount of $207,908
- Approval of the Agreement for Professional Consultant Services with Wood Rodgers, Inc. for materials testing and inspections related to the George Getto Transportation Yard Modernization Project in the amount of $388,900
- Approval of Charter renewals for the following charter schools: Mariposa Language and Learning (6 years) , Coral Academy (8 years), Bailey Charter School (3 years), and Encompass Academy (5 years). The Board voted to send the renewal application back to staff for further review, in light of public comments provided, for Sierra Nevada Academy Charter School.

Trustees Discussed Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC)
The Board of Trustees discussed and approved the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) offer to purchase a portion of real property located at Edward C. Reed High School. The proposed purchase amount is $150,971 and includes the granting of easements associated with the property for the purpose of accommodating a regional roadway project known as the Sparks Boulevard Improvement Project.

The Board of Trustees received a presentation as part of the Milestones and Momentum series to update progress on Goal 1: Strong Start for Every Child, which focuses on ensuring every child receives a strong academic foundation from Pre-K through Grade 5. Cannan Elementary School educators and students were highlighted as part of a success story. Progress includes documents demonstrating standards, i-Ready data provided to schools three times annually, and 425 teachers and administrators receiving LETRS training, focused on the science of reading.
