¿Qué es la Junta Directiva y de qué es responsable? La Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Washoe es el órgano decisorio elegido públicamente para el distrito escolar. Son responsables de supervisar al Superintendente y de establecer la política del Distrito. Los administradores son responsables de trabajar con sus comunidades para mejorar el rendimiento de los estudiantes.

¿Con qué frecuencia se reúne el Consejo de Administración? Los administradores se reúnen dos veces al mes (segundo y cuarto martes) a las 14.00 horas, tanto virtualmente como en la sala de juntas del edificio de la Administración Central, 425 E.9th St., Reno, NV 89512.

Trustees Approved a 1-Year Contract Amendment with Curriculum Associates, LLC, to Extend i-Ready, Math and Reading Site Licenses, on the Evaluation progress at least three times for the 2026-2027 School Year.

 

Trustees approved a 1-year contract amendment with Curriculum Associates, LLC, to extend i-Ready Math and Reading site licenses, to formatively assess and monitor student academic growth and provided targeted personalized instruction for each student, for all Washoe County School District and Middle Schools in the amount of $2,023,963.22 with reports to the board on the evaluation of progress at least three times for the 2026-2027 school year.

Trustees Approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price 2 (GMP 2) From Clark/Sullivan Construction as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) #23-41-C-02-AS for the Otis Vaughn Middle School Replacement Project, in the Amount of $7,719,126; Approval of an Owner's Contingency in the Amount of $400,000, for a total of $8,119,123; and Approval of Washoe County School District's Owner-CMAR Construction Agreement

Trustees presented a proclamation honoring Educator Appreciation Week and recognition of Allie Galas, the 2024 Milken Educator Award Winner in the Washoe County School District.

Trustees Received a Presentation and Facilitated an In-Person Interview, Resulting in the Appointment of Tiffany McMaster as the Incoming Superintendent of Washoe County School District, Effective July 8, 2026

 

Trustees received a presentation and facilitated an in-person interview of Washoe County School District Deputy Superintendent Tiffany McMaster for the position of Washoe County School District Superintendent of Schools; and appointed Ms. McMaster as the Superintendent of the Washoe County School District, effective July 8, 2026, subject to negotiation and approval of an employment contract and successful review by the Nevada Department of Education of eligibility for the position.

 

Highlights of the presentation and interview included:

  • Interview Process was conducted as follows: 1) Agenda Item, Introduction of the Deputy Superintendent, Tiffany McMaster 2) Explanation of the interview structure including an opening statement from the candidate, structured board questioning, and a closing statement from the candidate. 3) Questions 4) Conclusion, in which Trustees completed the Superintendent Interview Evaluation Framework, which informed the final decision.

  • Trustee Hull and Trustee Smith attended the Recruitment and Retention Commission meeting. Trustee Smith was the acting Vice Chair.
  • Trustee Nicolet attended the Mount Rose (K-8) Blue Ribbon event.
  • Trustees wished WCSD educators a happy Educator's Appreciation Week.

The next Meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled for May 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
