Trustees Received a Presentation on ARP ESSER III Annual Use of Funds Report

Staff presented the first ARP ESSER III Annual Use of Funds Report. There were $777 million in ESSER III funds awarded to CCSD. Of those, over $255 million (or 33.47%) in funds have been encumbered/ obligated or spent at the time of the report. Included in those funds are teacher retention bonuses, ELL endorsements for teachers, literacy professional learning, relocation bonuses, and strategic planning. Planned spending that has not yet been spent or encumbered/obligated includes Tier I instructional materials for ELA, health services for COVID-19 mitigation and other costs, and data transparency and accountability.

Data and transparency services are behind schedule, as they have decided to take some of the work in-house, but overall, CCSD reported it is mostly on schedule for spending these funds.

Trustees discussed alignment with the Focus: 2024 strategic plan, mental health services, and other supports for students and teachers.
