Trustees Received a Presentation on Progress Made on Strategic Plan Goal 3: Safety and Belonging
This presentation provided an update and several individual highlights on progress made on Strategic Plan Goal 3: Safety and Belonging. Highlights of the presentation included:
- A school spotlight for Fred Traner Middle School, which saw a 15% improvement in chronic absenteeism, an 89% improvement in staff and student climate, and 26 completed home visits
- New tools and studies to monitor attendance, chronic absenteeism, and climate data for the district
- A seven-point increase in school safety for Traner Middle School

Trustees received an update on efforts to reduce cell phone use during instruction time throughout the District. Highlights of the presentation included:

- Success from student-led focus groups surrounding the campaign

Trustees Approved Recommendations of the Zoning Advisory Committee to Modify Enrollment Boundaries of Certain Schools
Trustees approved the recommendation of the Zoning Advisory Committee to modify enrollment boundaries of several schools as a result of the construction of a new E. Otis Vaughn Middle School, effective at the beginning of the 20260-27 school year. These schools include Smithridge, Huffaker, Dodson, Donner Springs, Hidden Valley Elementary Schools; Vaughn, Swope, Pine, Herz, and Depoali Middle Schools; and Galena, Reno, Wooster, and Damonte Ranch High Schools.
