Board Received an Update on Closure Plans for Sage Collegiate Public Charter School and NV Prep
Closing administrator Josh Kern and TenSquare member LaRita Williams spoke regarding the status of the closing procedure on Sage Collegiate and NV Prep.
For Sage Collegiate, insufficient funds were found with the contractor Wildflower, and Sage was flagged for its material breach of non-payment. An additional concern was raised regarding board governance outside of the financial concerns.
For NV Prep, concerns were raised during the "Education Walk-Throughs," in which TenSquare identified disruptive and non-optimal classroom conditions as a risk. Furthermore, the priority identified in the process is increasing SBAC scores among existing students at NV Prep as they transition to AMS Nellis.

Board Issued a Notice of Intent to Terminate the Charter Contract at FutureEdge Academy at a Future Meeting
SPCSA Staff's recommendation for termination is based on what they have alleged as grounds for deficiency, including financial impairment, failure to meet bond obligations, and improper EMO control over school operations.
A final decision of termination will occur at a later meeting in July. As the closing process begins, the proven provider will be AMS. FutureEdge will continue to operate until the end of the year under the guidance of the selected closing administrator.
Board Approved Academies of Math and Science (AMS) as the Proven Provider to Restart FutureEdge
Staff from AMS discussed surveying the FutureEdge campus community and strategizing on how best to serve the school during the restart. Kristen Guthrie received a shoutout from the AMS staff for establishing strong community relationships that can be built on.
Update on Academies of Math and Science (AMS) Nellis' Campus

- Closed on the property this past Tuesday,
- Enrollment is currently at 479, with enrollment just opening in March, and with confidence, they will hit the target of 600 (currently 80% to the enrollment target)
