Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Clark
¿Qué es el Consejo de Administración y de qué es responsable? Los fideicomisarios del CCSD toman las decisiones del distrito escolar. Siete miembros son elegidos según el distrito; cuatro son representantes designados de los cuatro municipios más grandes del Condado de Clark (Condado de Clark, Ciudad de Las Vegas, Ciudad de Henderson y Ciudad de North Las Vegas). Son responsables de supervisar al Superintendente y establecer la política de todo el distrito. ¿Con qué frecuencia se reúne el Consejo de Administración? Los administradores se reúnen dos veces al mes (segundo y cuarto jueves) a las 17.00 horas, tanto virtualmente como en la sala de juntas del Centro Educativo Edward A. Greer (2832 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89121).
¿Pueden los miembros de la comunidad participar en las reuniones de los administradores? Los órganos decisorios se benefician enormemente de las aportaciones del público y de sus múltiples puntos de vista. Trustees approved a Notice of Intent (NOI) regarding Regulation 2500 – Service Animals. The NOI references:
- Dogs or miniature horses who are trained to work or perform tasks for persons with disabilities and require a doctor or professional’s referral.
- Guidelines and definitions in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Specific guidelines are given to determine if the animal is an approved service animal (limited inquiry) and when it may be appropriate or necessary to remove the animal for the safety of the public.
A copy of the proposal is available for inspection by the public during normal business hours in the Office of the Superintendent of Schools of the Clark County School District which is located at 5100 West Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada, and also on the Clark County School District website at https://www.ccsd.net/district/policies-regulations/. Trustees Approved a Notice of Intent to Adopt, Repeal, or Amend CCSD Regulation 2500.1 – Emotional Support Animals (7-0)
Trustees approved a Notice of Intent (NOI) regarding Regulation 2500.1 – Emotional Support Animals. The NOI outlines:
- Emotional support animals are not service animals. They provide comfort or support for individuals with disabilities, and do not have special training.
- Student requests for these animals will be considered in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- A management plan is needed to discuss animal feeding and elimination needs as well as costs associated.
- Specific guidelines are given to determine if the animal is an approved emotional support and when it may be appropriate or necessary to remove the animal for the safety of the public.

Trustees approved a Notice of Intent (NOI) regarding Regulation 2500.2 – Schoolwide Therapy Dogs. The NOI oulines:
- Only one schoolwide therapy dog may be used at any given time in one school, and costs shall be paid by the handler. Handlers may only supervise one dog at a time and is responsible for the therapy dog at all times, and is not permitted in areas where there are sinks or food prepared or stored.
- Applications for these animals must be submitted by the Principal and approved by the Superintendent.
- Handler must prove certification and liability insurance as well as a management plan with needs of dog and benefit to school.
- Specific guidelines are given to determine if the animal is an approved school wide therapy animal, and when it may be appropriate or necessary to remove the animal for the safety of the public.
