Trustees Approved a Report on Human Resources (7-0)
Trustees saw and approved a report on employee performance, focusing on goals that are part of the District’s 2026-2031 strategic plan.
Entre los aspectos más destacados de la presentación figuran los siguientes:
- A focus on human resources supports the “Academic Excellence” priority of the District’s 2026-2031 strategic plan. The “Academic Excellence” strategy it supports is “valued educators”.
- In the 2025-26 school year, of the 15,859 teachers evaluated using the Nevada Educator Performance Framework, 95.5% received scores of “effective” or “highly effective”, 0.5% received “ineffective” or “developing”, and 4% were exempt from receiving the full evaluation.
- Of the 811 administrators evaluated, 96.7% received scores of “effective” or “highly effective”, 0.1% received “developing”, and 3.2% were exempt from receiving the full evaluation (none received “ineffective”).
- Next steps include collaboration between the Leadership and Professional Learning Division and Human Resources to cultivate strong leaders, development of a leadership framework focused on future-ready competencies and the Nevada Educator Performance Framework, and conducting an evidence-based review of the District’s leadership pipeline.
- A focus on human resources also supports the “Career-Connected Learning and Durable Skills” priority of the District’s 2026-2031 strategic plan. The “Career-Connected Learning and Durable Skills” strategy it supports is “employees prepared to lead what’s next”.
- Work currently in progress to support this strategy includes creating opportunities for expert educators to lead by identifying their strategies and helping those strategies spread across the District, as well as establishing research, design, test, and scale structures to develop promising practices.
- A focus on human resources also supports the “Safe and Supportive Schools” priority of the District’s 2026-2031 strategic plan. The “Safe and Supportive Schools” strategy it supports is “a workplace where employees thrive”.
- In comparison to the start of the 2025-26 school year, the 2026-27 school year had fewer 1st day of school vacancies (decreasing from 348 to 167), a higher fill rate (increasing from 98% to 99%), and fewer licensed special education vacancies (decreasing from 163 to 90).
